MBABANE – You never saw it coming.

Country music songbird Cleopatra has spread her wings to reach other countries with her talent. She has been recognised by CNN’s African Voices as they did a documentary featuring her, talking about the country and her love for country music.  The documentary will be aired today on Digital Satellite Television DStv channel 401 at 6:30am. The programme started being aired last Saturday. During an interview with the talented songbird, she expressed her excitement about the whole profile not only for the exposure she got, but for the elevation of country music in Africa.  “The experience was great working with a very dedicated team. Eswatini is beautiful and has so many talented people who deserve to be on such platforms. This is a great opportunity for many emaSwati to go far. the world is looking for unique stories and Eswatini has those beautiful unique stories about talented people, ” she said.

Methula has not only achieved the international profile but she utterly shocked the nation a month ago with her swift yet big moves, as the country woke up to news of Methula’s nomination at the Texas Sound Country Music Awards under three categories. These accolades are; ‘Best Entertainer’, ‘Best Vocalist’ and ‘Best Songwriter’ under the International Acts section. Methula was not only nominated, but she was given the opportunity to also perform during these awards, which will be held in the United States of America in Texas on October 17, 18, 19, and  20 which are dates falling on Thursday  all the way through to Sunday. The songbird expressed her enormous excitement as she will be representing the country.

Local country music kings Dusty and Stones said that they were also very excited and at peace as they have the assurance that country music will continue to grow in leaps and bounds. “We can’t even express the joy we have as this profile will help push country music, making it a household name.” “This profile also shows that country music has grown and it gives us the assurance that we are going to leave this genre in the right hands, we are so proud of Cleopatra,” they said.
