GOSPEL STAR PHIWOKWAKHE SELLS 7 000 COPIES IN SA!

MBABANE – With less than three months of release, gospel star Phiwokwakhe’s new album is flying off the shelves.


It seems the vocally-gifted singer has made his name in South Africa as he confirmed that at least 7 000 copies had already been sold since the album was released in December.


Phiwokwakhe Dlamini could not hide his excitement while mentioning that South Africa was in love with his music.


“I distributed the album around South Africa and also made sure I had copies with me when booked for performances in gospel shows or church services. Some copies were sold in Zimbabwe. I am humbled by the huge support and I thank God for putting me in this road, to change people’s lives through my music. I am getting positive feedback from my fans,” he said.


While working on the album, he said changing lives and restoring hope to the broken souls was his main goal.

Furthermore, Dlamini also made it clear that his latest project was now available in the country has he had promised earlier on. He said only 500 copies were distributed in music stores across the country, for now.


“I noticed that my local fans were also showing interest in the album as it has been receiving airplay on local radio stations and I saw it fit to distribute the copies and if more people need it  I will come back with more,” he added.


The talented musician, who also runs a business, is currently in the country, promoting the project. The ‘Ngihamba neNkosi’ titled album consists of 15 praise and worship tracks. It is filled with uplifting songs which come in different sounds such as the popular Nigerian sound.


Meanwhile, the gospel singer is busy with preparations for the album launch. He confirmed the month of April as the perfect month to host the event.
“We have decided to go with April for the event and it is going to be massive. I am currently working on the logistics, and full details regarding the launch will be made available soon,” he said.


Moreover, Dlamini also revealed that the experienced all-female gospel group, Masibuyele Kujehova, was now under his stable, Phiwokwakhe Communications. He further shared that the gospel group were back with a new album titled ‘Mbongeni’, which was released in November.

“I am now working with this amazing group. I am pushing their music across South Africa and in other countries. This is an honour since they are a respected outfit,” he said.
The artist launched his singing career in 2005 and spent a couple of years in the country before moving to South Africa where it seems he took his career to the next level. The musician has four albums under his belt.
