MBABANE – A short trip to her neighbourhood shops left musician Khole with a horrific experience. The afro soul singer, gifted with a golden voice, literally started her weekend on a bad foot when her neighbour’s dog mauled her right leg. This scary incident took place on Saturday morning while the artist was from buying airtime.

The surprise attack left the right ankle of the ‘Sikhatsi Sami’ hitmaker covered in blood and her whole body rolling on the ground in shock. According to the artist, what made the dog bite more traumatic was the fact that she had a scheduled performance a few hours later.

While reliving the sad ordeal, Khole said she was saved by onlookers who quickly chased away the dog and a close friend of hers was contacted to rush her to Raleigh Fitking Memerial Hospital in Manzini. She was treated and discharged on the same day.

The afro soul singer asked this publication not to reveal where this incident took place. “While I went past my neighbour’s house, without any warning, I felt a bite on my leg and all of a sudden people were shouting, until the dog ran away. I looked at my ankle and fell to the ground. More than the pain, I was confused. Thoughts were rushing through my mind, why me, I love dogs. I have to work later,” she opened up about her attack.

Advised

The ‘Ngijike Mnyango’ hitmaker added that in as much as the doctors had advised her to rest her leg as soon as she got home, she overlooked the advice and went on to perform at a private function at Nhlabeni where she was booked together with her band.

“I love my job. I also make a decent amount of money by playing as many gigs as I can in a day or week, so it is hard to pass up a job. I am also a live band musician, which means we work as a team. When one person is not available it can really dampen the spirit of the band,” she added.

While talking about her brand, she said she had come a long way and nothing was going to stop her now, not even a dog bite. She added that she had a lot to achieve this year.

“I am lucky the bite was not as deep as to affect my muscles or veins,” she said.
In addition, the singer then shared her scary ordeal on her personal Facebook account, with the intention of explaining why she was hobbling and with a bandage on her leg.
