The beauty of Namibia and its talent has tapped into the country and thanks to local rapper Street Cooper who lured Adora, from Namibia, to collaborate with him.
‘Feel The Vibe’ is officially out and the Namibian artist expressed how excited she was to work with liSwati.

Not only was STYLE wowed by her amazing and gorgeous personality her, her humbleness to work with an upcoming liSwati made us keen to know who she is and what inspired this brilliant decision.

Who is Adora?

My fullname is Lilani Kisting. My hunt for a stage name came about when a fellow Namibian artist told me that real names would be hard to pronounce and remember. Adora is derived from Adorable. I am from Namibia, neighbouring country of South Africa. Our country has a population of about 2.4 million.

I am a PK (pastors kid) and obviously there are certain standard expectations from pastors kids.  Our household consists of seven members (mom, dad, three brothers and one sister). During my high school years, around 2004, I enrolled at the College of the Arts to do classical music vocal training where I obtained a certificate. I am also a make-up artist by profession. Right now, I am a second year student in the New Media Design course.

What motivated you to start your music career?

My father is a choral composer and besides him, my entire extended family is musically passionate.  I grew up around great writers and singers.

What major projects have you done?

Well, I have done quite a few big projects. One of them would be an acapella album with an internationally recognised acapella group called VMSix. I released my first album in 2016 which got me seven nominations and an award as most disciplined artist in the Namibian Annual Music awards in 2017. One other highlight would be having received numerous bookings beyond the Namibian borders. My new song with Street Cooper is something I definitely regard as a major project too.

How did you meet Street Cooper?
Our songs were listed in the Taffy raw top 20 where we stumbled upon each other’s work. I have a platform where I chat and engage with fans on my WhatsApp and he hit me up.

What motivated you to work with him?
I’m ALWAYS excited to work with people from other countries. He is talented and the mere fact that he even approached me was humbling.

How was working with him?
It was a little challenging to get my end of the collaboration done as it was the last part of the year (which is usually busy) but he didn’t give up, very persistent, and that’s one thing I admire about his character. Our work relationship has grown stronger thus I now regard him as a brother from another mother.

Are you happy with the song you made?
Honestly, it was so much fun!! I am so happy and very excited about its outcome. I worked with DJ Preezy and Dizzo (songwriter) for the concept.

Any wishes you have to work with emaSwati artists and why?
I believe it’s time we exchange cultures, sounds, language and even styles of music. The best way to learn from the talented people from Eswatini is by spending time with those who can expose you to what Eswatini stands for and the different cultures. It is my dire wish to whom and my connections and I must thank platforms and opportunities like these for exposing me to such opportunities.

Have you ever made collaborations with other artists outside your country and if yes who are they?
I have only worked with Mr Roberto aka Mr Amarula from Zambia.

What is your secret to keeping your musical career alive?
Three things; prayer, true and real passion and my fans.
