MANZINI – It is safe to hand over the title of ‘Mr fill-up’ to gospel maestro and Member of Parliament Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane.

It was completely sold-out house coupled with eye-catching performances and guest appearances from big names such as Thinah Zungu. All of these performances were anchored by well-polished dance moves that made sure they sent the fully-packed crowd into a frenzy. From as early as 8pm, it was clear to everyone at the show that MP Simelane, yet again pulled it off with a successful show at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre.

According to the team at the gate, at least 20 000 people showed up for the annual event; this was confirmed by Simelane, who did not waste time to thank his fans and the nation for their continued support over the past eight years, since the inception of the show.

Amazing

Simelane described the event as amazing while his fans described it as thrilling despite the heavy rains that threatened to sweep it away in the early hours of the night. The rainfall cut short a solid performance that was delivered by legendary gospel artist, Sipho Makhabane. The rain might have tampered with the sound system, as it suddenly had problems after the heavy rain drops but this did not stop artiste from putting on sterling performances that led to fans yearning for more.

The invited international artists proved their class on stage while the locals also threatened to lift the roof with their world-class performances. Coming to the performances on stage, the fans could not get enough of Mpumalanga Praise’s show-stopping rendition, which had the whole stadium singing along. The choir climbed on stage after 2am and performed for over 30 minutes. They were taking from the great delivery made by the hosts, Mduduzi NeziNceku Zamagawugawu. The group’s song ‘Sibatjelile’ shook the whole stadium and the dance moves dished out by the choir did not help matters as the crowd kept on screaming for more.

Another gospel outfit that endeared themselves to the hearts of the music lovers were Tshwane Gospel Choir, who did not only put out a stellar performance on stage but also paraded fashionable outfits.
