LET’S DANCE ESWATINI CONTESTANTS REVEALED

MBABANE – Influencers and personalities are continually contributing to the growth of the arts in the country.

Let’s Dance Eswatini, a concept similar to South Africa’s pioneered Strictly Come Dancing, has revealed its celebrity contestants and they include Eswatini Mobile Chief Customer Executive Gciniwe Fakudze, Eswatini award-winning comedian Mdura and others.
This recently announced dance competition confirmed its celebrity contestants last week via their Facebook and Instagram pages.

Event Coordinator Suzan Esteves said, similar to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ concept, Let’s Dance Eswatini would pair the celebrities with top ballroom and Latin dancers to compete for the trophy. 

“Contestants will present two choreographed dance performances at the event, the first of which will be a sport dance, ballroom and Latin dances.
‘‘The second will be a genre of the celebrities’ choice. People can follow interviews and rehearsals via the Let’s Dance Eswatini Facebook, YouTube and Instagram pages,” said Esteves.

The full list of local celebrities are people who have a following in Eswatini media, and come from the entertainment, business and sports sectors.
Honour
Through her personal assistant, Fakudze confirmed her participation. Also, comedian Mdura confirmed his participation, stating that he was aware of the other names on the list.

“It is an honour to be part of the participants of this beautiful initiative,” said the comedian.
The event will take place in February 2019 in a gala style evening event. There will be a combination of celebrity judges and professional dance adjudicators. The event audience and the audience at home will also get a chance to get their votes in through a voting system.

Votes

A combination of the judges’ scores and audience votes will determine the first annual Let’s Dance Eswatini winner.
