MBABANE –Work hard and get rewarded! MTN SWAMA Awards awardees will be ‘coining’ it next week as it has been revealed they will be given their E5 000 prize monies in that time.

This was revealed by SWAMA Public Relations Officer Thabile Mdluli, after questions were raised as to when the winners would receive their money.
The over 24 winners, including the Lifetime Achievement award which was whisked away by the iconic Smiles Makama, were revealed last Saturday at the elegant yellow carpet event at Royal Swazi Spa Convention Centre in Ezulwini.

Winners

The winners were revealed in front of Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku, the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga, MTN Eswatini CEO Sibusiso Nhleko, Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture CEO Stanley Dlamini, and over 400 music lovers and supporters.
In a brief interview with this publication, Mdluli said they will get their money through MoMo before the end of next week.

“There are a few logistics that we are ironing out, otherwise we can assure them they will definitely get their pay,” said Mdluli.
Last year, the awardees also received their prize money just over a week after the awards, in an intimate event where former Prime Minister Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini was present.

Also, Mdluli said they were humbled by how the awards ran smoothly.

Overwhelmed

“We are still overwhelmed by the level of talent Eswatini possesses. The awards were proof to all and sundry that emaSwati artists are ready to compete in the international stage. We believe the awards were hugely successful - from production to performances and everything in between.

“We would like to commend the MTN SWAMA Awards management team for pulling such a mind- blowing show. We would also like to thank our title sponsor MTN Eswatini for choosing to support local artists, as well as our other sponsors REDI, Sibebe Premium Lager, LetsGoZanzibar, Galaxy Media, Tapster Brothers and FNB,” she said.
