MANZINI - Who said you need the influence of drugs to have fun and be relevant as a young person?

This was the order of the day at the Young Life Carnival that took place last Saturday where the former Jam Alley star, Twasa Seoke was the main speaker/performer.

Twasa last released a single in 2012. She has now released her second album Kairos - The Turn Up. The co-host of Lesedi FM’s afternoon drive show Rea Kubeletsa took a break to focus on her studies, one of the reasons she has been off the spotlight.
The event, held at Mavuso Trade Centre, was a day to celebrate the youth in a daytime event where there was strictly no alcohol but a lot of dancing, fun, games music and the Word of God.

Before she performed, Twasa shared her life story of how she got born again and how accepting Jesus has  played a massive role in her successful career which has spanned over 18 years.

“I’m here to encourage the youth of Eswatini to be trailblazers and not participators. You do not need to be an adult to run a business. Dare to dream! What is important though is that you first allow God to lead your lives,” she said. Twasa spoke strongly against alcohol abuse as well as premarital sex saying both took away many years from the futures of young people.

Her set was also marked by some electrifying deejay skills as she started her set with a remix of the hit track ‘Umoya uyavuma’ mixed with her own music.
The crowd could not get enough of her thrilling performance. Zanele Simelane, who was also part of the audience, expressed her enormous excitement about the whole event.

“I had a great time and I really enjoyed every performance and the fact that we were ushered in the presence of  God who is our sole provider,” she said.

Speechless

Mthokozisi Simelane was also speechless as he said he felt bad for those who did not attend.
“I really can’t wait to attend the next carnival, I hope people will attend,” he said

The event was supported by the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture as well as Eswatini National Youth Council and Carson Group among others.
Other acts of the day were Switch, Sibz and Skeel who left the audience screaming for an encore.

The organisers of the successful event said they hoped to make this an annual showpiece to give the youth a chance to have some good clean fun.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service was also present to ensure that the event was smooth and safe.

Twasa said her performance in Eswatini was an emotional one as she enjoyed every minute of it as well as the energy from the audience.
