MBABANE – Those who are interested in attending the second edition of Siyawela crossover might have to freeze their plans as this year’s show hangs in the balance.

This, as the show is left with only two months to be organised by ACASWA, however, during their first ever meeting last Sunday, the newly-elected interim committee  has not come out with a concrete answer if the event will take place or not.

The first edition of the annual show was launched last year by the ousted President Mzwakhe Myeni together with his executive committee. The event was held on December 31 at Mbabane Worship Centre Church, and drew an impressive crowd as the auditorium was filled to the rafters.

During an interview with this publication, Secretary of the interim committee, Thamie Ndlovu first acknowledged that their first meeting was a great success as they discussed a wide range of issues concerning a way forward. However, coming to the Siyawela crossover, Ndlovu said they would make a solid decision on the show during a meeting slated for next week Tuesday.

“We have another meeting on Tuesday to discuss the Siyawela crossover and other ACASWA activities, which I believe will form part of our press statement at the joint conference we intend doing with arts and culture. So with regards to the crossover, a determination will be made on Tuesday,” he said.

In addition, the lawyer who runs a firm in Manzini said Tuesday night was a unique one for them as they held a successful handover meeting with former President Mzwakhe Myeni and former Secretary General Apostle Vusumuzi Maculuve on the status of the association and remaining projects.

Apostle Maculuve said after resigning two months ago to pursue his studies at the University of Eswatini where he is currently enrolled for  a Bachelors degree in Education for Leadership Management of Inclusive Education, had a perfect handover with the newly-elected ACASWA Interim Committee.
