MISS CULTURAL HERITAGE VOTING SCORES REVEALED

MBABANE – The votes are out! The voting results for the Miss Cultural Heritage Pageant were released yesterday and on the number one spot is finalist Zakithi Mthethwa, with 520 votes.


Mthethwa is followed by Sebenele Mthethwa, with 479 votes.
On the third position is Takhona Khumalo with 305 votes, while those who were above the 200 mark include the likes of Cebile Mabuza 295, Tandzile Tsabedze 295, Temakhosi Dlamini 225 and Temlandvo Matsebula with 215. The other finalists amassed just over a 100 votes.


The finalists were revealed in October 3 at Bethel Court, where the voting resumed. The 12 ladies who range between ages 18 and 23 were chosen from the 37 hopefuls who had registered.


Reigning


From the 12 who were revealed at Bethel Court in Ezulwini, one will take the crown from Nelisiwe Shongwe, a SCOT student, who is the reigning Miss Cultural Heritage 2017/2018.
After the revelation of the votes, the12 finalists were taken to Sibebe Resorts for a bootcamp.


The reality of the journey to the finals began last Friday afternoon, as the Miss Cultural Heritage hopefuls underwent a grooming and pre-judging session at the Manzini Club.


Miss Cultural Heritage Project Manager Mhlonishwa Motsa said they were excited about the response the event had received through votes.
“We are grateful to the girls for such an overwhelming response and also to EPTC for providing us with this platform.
‘‘The one who will get more votes will have chances of winning the crown increased by 40 per cent,” said Motsa.


Sponsors


The George Hotel will be hosting the finals and Motsa thanked all their sponsors and partners for this year. Voting lines will close at 5pm on Saturday, October 27.
The pageant is supported by Eswatini Posts and Telecommunication Corporation (EPTC), which sponsored communication throughout the voting process and on the day of the pageant, and Standard Bank sponsored E10 000, which was handed over by Sigwane.


Branding


Other sponsors entailed Sigeja Couriers, who sponsored gear for the finalists, Morello Blue, who was responsible for all the branding of Miss Cultural Heritage material and Carson Group, who will be responsible for transporting the girls the day of the finals.


ENCAC CEO Stanley Dlamini said he was grateful that the public was responding to this pageant, which is a cultural initiative.
 “Miss Cultural Heritage’s duty is to plan culture days for different entities and different schools and by voting, the people of Eswatini are contributing to such activities.
