MBABANE – The entertainment industry has yet again lost one of its own.  Following the death of DJ Steel a few weeks ago, the executive and membership of the Eswatini Arts and Music Association (SWAMA), as well as the entire arts fraternity, gathered its strength and conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the Mnisi family on the untimely demise of Mcebo Mnisi, who was affectionately known as Marcus SD.

In a touching statement shared by the association’s Secretary General, Bongani ‘DJ Tizalami’ Dube, the fallen artist known for his prowess when spitting lyrics on his songs, was described as more than an ordinary man.
“He was a dreamer, who, in spite of his young age, went on to pursue what he loved the most -music. He established healthy relations with almost all rappers of note in the country, finding himself a home at Eardrumzz Music - a stable that nurtured him and helped him grow.

He worked with amazing producers, including M Seth, Mvilas, Slotta, Neves, Skhubash, DeeFlava, Alex Muti, DD Cool, to name but a few,” Dube said, on behalf of SWAMA and the arts industry.

The statement continues to describe the ‘Yellow bone’ hitmaker as someone who was always humble and ever smiling.
Dube, who worked closely with the gifted artist, said he was always willing to improve and beat his own standards.

“He was a keen researcher, as shown by his inquisitiveness on how music business works; and this affirms that he took his art and talent seriously. He had numerous chart busting singles, and became an inspiration to many of his peers,” Dube added.
On the moving statement, Dube added that the news of his demise left them dumbfounded and totally shaken.

“That none of us or his immediate friends saw it coming makes coming to terms with it even harder. While we are grieving, we take pride in that he left us with a legacy that can never be undone: his music!  Surely, his music will live on and so will his memories,” he added.
To fellow artists, arts managers, arts administrators, family and friends, Dube encouraged them to kindly find solace in God's word, as written in the book of the Revelation 21:4.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the old order of things has passed away". To our brother and friend Marcus: Rest in God's eternal peace. We salute you,” concluded the statement.
Marcus SD was found hanging from the roof of the house he rented at Thembelihle.

The family member of the late artist confirmed the sad news and said they were still in shock. And needed time to deal with the loss in a private space.
The mother of his only son, Nozipho Dlamini, said she was still shocked as she knew him to be a strong person.

“He is not a person who could commit suicide. He loved his son, I am still trying to get into terms with this whole thing,” she said.
Moreover, Radio Personality Lindelwa ‘Lindz’ Mafa failed to contain herself when called to seek a comment from her, since she is the last journalist who had an in-depth interview with him, last week Wednesday before his passing on Sunday night.

“He was more than an artist to me; he was more like my own son. In fact, that is how I treat the up and coming artists in the country. We had a special bond. I did not pick it up during the interview that he was not fine, even though he did cite a few problems but assured me he was in control,” she said before she broke down and asked this reporter to text her.
