MBABANE – You have to be really good at what you do when you get invited to perform on foreign grounds.  Afro soul musician, Bholoja, is well known for killer performances on stage and because of this, he was performing at the State of Kuwait during the SADC Cultural Week last week.

The embassies of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) accredited to and based in the State of Kuwait, comprising Botswana, Comoros, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, held the SADC Cultural Week in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) from September 30 to October 4.

Bholoja’s music was met with a lot of excitement and warmth from the Kuwait society, adults and youth alike, throughout the different venues he performed, this is according to the team the multi-talented musician travelled with.

The ‘Zero to Hero’ hitmaker said he was invited by Kuwait musicians from the Duke studios to record with them, so they could publicise his music throughout the Gulf region, as they believed they could reach a bigger audience all over the middle east.
He also collaborated with Christopher Muvengwa Timbe from the Republic of Zimbabwe, who played an African traditional instrument called the Mbira, and they got to perform their song on Ktv2 ‘Hala kuwait’.

“I would like to thank the Kuwait National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), for sponsoring the event as well as giving me the platform to showcase my music and represent the Kingdom of Eswatini. I would also like to thank Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Eswatini and the State of Kuwait, as well as thank the Eswatini National Council for Arts and Culture and SWAMA,” said the artist.

He further said he  would like to thank the SADC embassies accredited to the State of Kuwait, especially the Embassy of Eswatini in the State of Kuwait, for organising the cultural week and facilitating  travel arrangement from Eswatini to Kuwait.
The international artist also thanked Sigeja Curios for donating traditional attire to them before the trip to Kuwait. He encouraged other companies to learn from the shop situated at the Mbabane, Plaza.
