MBABABNE – The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet. Newly-crowned Mr Eswatini, Rodney Landsberg is leading by example in society by letting his actions speak louder than words as he was part of granduands who graduated during the 38th graduation ceremony that took place last Saturday at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA).

The role model and alumni was enrolled in Bachelor of Science, Environmental Management, Occupational Safety and Health.
Knowledge
He said this course will help him execute his duties as Mr Eswatini, as he is now well-versed on issues of sustainable development, surveillance programmes to cease the spread of diseases, public health and water sanitation, which all fall under his objectives and goals as a role model and a leader.

“Putting my knowledge to practise will help curb poverty in the kingdom and assist in His Majesty’s vision,” he said.
Landsberg revealed that it was not a course he chose but he then learnt the importance of it and on how it will assist him in helping the nation.
“It was not what I wanted, but then it turned out to be what I needed. It encompasses what people should be,’’ he said.

On another note, the role model looked dapper in his designer suit, tailored by Las Boutique and he had the support from his family and friends, especially his grandmother as he plans to build her a better house.

Proud

“Big thanks to my grandmother, she was super excited and proud. I have to build her a better house,” he said.
Education is key to success, Landsberg urged the youth to live their dreams as it is up to them.

“Development is in your hands, stop wasting time by feeling entitled. This world rewards people who have an input in society, if you think you will be rewarded for being alive, you are in the wrong place,” he said.
