MALKERNS – Poetry, music and dance moves defined the SWAMA party last Friday night.

Though it started at a snail’s pace as the crowd came in dribs and drabs, the event put together by SWAMA to celebrate MTN’s contribution into the arts industry over the 20 years of its service in the country, was a success. There to set the party mood was Master P’s banger hit single ‘Misbehave’. The song was almost an anthem for the evening show as it changed the mood when it was first performed by RnB star Mandisa Mamba. The audience went wild as she gave it her all while performing, so much that an encore was requested.

The hit song also dominated after midnight as Master P took to the turntables and delivered an atmosphere-changing set. The spinner saw the empty dance floor being suddenly filled with excited fun lovers and when he dropped the popular song, the whole audience stood up, screamed in excitement and sang along while shaking it.
This warm reception left Master P with a broad smile on his face and said it was fulfilling to see the song not only topping charts but dominating dance floors in the country. On the other hand, musician Mandisa Mamba thanked the crowd for appreciating her performance.

Before ‘Misbehave’ ruled the night, poetry captivated the audience as poets Majaha Nkonyane, Zinyane Lebenguni and Skeel were at their utmost best. While Nkonyane collaborated with talented deep house music producer Slotta to render a new poem dedicated to the event, Zinyane Lebenguni came prepared with a thought-provoking and heart-warming poem dedicated to MTN Eswatini. The poets were loved by the audience and Nkonyane even got himself a standing ovation, as his three poems were enough to steal everyone’s heart.

On the night, rapper Illa Penboy and SwaziBoy Entertainment’s ‘Ur Gal Zee’, were superb as hosts of the event. Talking about rappers, 80 Script and Lyrikal Busta were among the best performers of the night.
