JUDAH LIVES UP TO HIS NAME’S MEANING : PRAISE

MBABANE – The name Judah is a Hebrew name.

In Hebrew the meaning of the name Judah is Praise and that’s all what local artist, Judah was about last Friday at Alliance Francaise de Mbabane. The third lunch concert initiated by the Alliance Francaise was a blissful, successful one hour event, where they had a well-known vocalist who goes by the name of Judah Phumelela Silitshena.

Silitshena left the crowd yearning for more and entertained with his unique voice and his new original hit songs. The Alliance Francaise de Mbabane has introduced a podium for local artists to showcase their talent once every month, where they have a lunch concert. Next week they will be having local well-known songbird Khole Shabalala. Siphilele Magagula, who is the cultural coordinator, said they were happy about the success of the event as people seem to be getting used to the idea and also growing in the number of attendance.

“Our main mandate is to support local artists, and our services,” she said. The concert is all about local artists and if they are interested to be part of the concert, they can visit the Alliance Francaise desk, Magagula also confirmed that they are now fully booked for this year but they are still open for more applicants. The crowd was amazing as they sang along with the artist while performing with a different chilled and intimate environment. Vocalist Judah also expressed his enormous joy with the whole event, as he said he had a great experience with an intimate environment.

He is known in the Jazz genre circle, but he surprised the crowd as he performed different genres including pop and soul. He also said their main mandate was to spread love through music, which is a diverse language for everyone. “We are all about happy and love songs, we want to bring back love to the new generation,” he said. He is currently working on his new album, which his manager Ndumiso confirmed that it will be available early next year, but they will release a single before the album.
