MBABANE – Their aim was to create relations with the country and they did just that!

Through the harsh storm which rattled Mbabane city on Friday night, South African gospel music group ensemble, Tshwane Gospel Choir rose through the storm and danced like its December at Mbabane Alliance Church stage. The event, which was attended by over 300 people, saw the group rocking the church in praise and worship. The intention of their performance was to build a relationship with the country in a theme titled ‘Road to Tshwane’, which entailed the journey of recruiting a liSwati into the group.

Also, they were launching their new album titled ‘The Next Revival’, which was dropped earlier this year. The show was hosted by the choir in collaboration with Umvini Investments, a local events company. The choir sang two set, each set in different outfits. In unison, their voices rocked the church as they sang songs from the new album and they included ‘Ngcwele Jehova’, ‘Moya Waka’, ‘Yehova’ and ‘Sigijime’, a track which made many dance. Another sterling performance of the night was the legendary Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group under the leadership of Reverend Elias Shongwe.

Inevitably, the crowd scrambled in danced as soon as the crew got on stage. They sang their popular ‘Egameni’, ‘Sojika jika’ and others which never fail to make people get to their feet and dance. It is at this point that spirits of the attendees were heightened. On the other hand, Umvini Investments’ Nhlanhla Mathunjwa said the liSwati winner, who was to be picked from 14 finalists who battled it out for space in the ensemble, is yet to be revealed.
