YOUNGEST DJ IN AFRICA FOR MEGASOUND PICNIC

MBABANE – At six years of age, DJ Arch Junior is determined to make local fun lovers dance.

The South African youngest club DJ whose real name is Oratilwe AJ Hlongwane will be one of the headliners for MegaSound Picnic which is set to take place at Malkerns Country Club on October 27, 2018. He was dubbed the ‘youngest DJ in Africa’ after winning South Africa’s Got Talent and walking away with E500 000 grand prize back in 2015 when he was only three years old. Confirming this was the young DJs Manager, Ashley Chiswo who said they were excited for this opportunity as it will be Arch Junior’s first time performing in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

Management

Speaking on the consent of the DJ performing and taking into consideration that he is only six years old, his father, Glen Hlongwane assured this publication through a telephonic interview that he was aware of the DJs performance in the country and that his management had communicated with them as the DJs parents. “Oratilwe (DJ Arch Junior) is treated as an ordinary child at home and attends pre – school just like any other ordinary child as education is very important. We want him to have something to fall back on should it happen that his career in the entertainment industry elapses. We all know that the entertainment industry is fickle,” added Hlongwane. He further added that as parents they know that the  young boy is an inspiration to many other youngster. “ All I can say is education first  and the rest must come second for one to be a success in whatever they do,” said Hlongwane.

The shows, which has both a local and international line-ups will feature performances from the likes of South African celebrated artists Mlindo the vocalist who rose to fame after being discovered by DJ Maphorisa. He has worked with the likes of Sun El Musician on the smash single ‘Bamthathile’, DJ Ralf Gum  who has performed in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, South and North America as well as Africa and local DJs Tibo DW, Supa CDQ, Wicked, Yugo, Tonic Deep, Tendaness and live performances from Khole and Nats Efx. It is worth noting that these artists are in the first and second batch as more are still being added. The event will start at 10am on Saturday, October 27 up until the following day.

Inspiration

Speaking on behalf of MegaSound Samkelo ‘DJ Zulu D’ Zulu said they were looking forward to hosting the young DJ on the day and they hope that he will be an inspiration to aspiring DJs in the country. Speaking to some of the DJs who will share the stage with the young DJ, they said they couldn’t wait to see how at a young age, DJ Arch Junior is able to do what some aspiring DJs are struggling to do. DJ Yugo, whose real name is Sibusiso Mavimbela said he was excited to experience the young DJs performance and that he was looking forward to learning a few tricks from a young creative in the entertainment industry.  Early bird tickets to the show are selling for E120 for general and E300 VIP while pre-sale tickets will be sold for E150 for general and E350 for VIP. These tickets can be purchased at Galitos franchise nationwide, Wine Boutique in Ezulwini, Ocean Basket Ezulwini and Sdeez in Manzini.
