MBABANE – The ‘malume’ gqom sounds will still be heard all over Big Bend on August 25, 2018.

Despite the complaints submitted by candidates who have been nominated for the Primary Elections around Big Bend towards the ‘distraction’ that will be imposed by South African DJ Tira’s show, the DJ confirmed that the show is still on.

The show, dubbed ‘DJ Tira’s  Birthday Tour’ is set for August 25 at Mayaluka Stadium in Big Bend, during the day of the Primary Elections. The show has aroused serious concern as the DJ is known to be popular, especially with the youth, who are expected to participate during the voting process and it is feared that the excitement will cause the youth to neglect voting.

The DJ, however, now aware of the elections, said the show has been moved up to 6pm, in respect of the upcoming Primary Elections.
According to the event’s Public Relations Officer Banele Dlamini, they made an agreement with the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) and the Royal Eswatini Police to start the show at 6pm.

“We are people and we understand that the country has embarked on a fundamental journey- the elections. We have moved the starting time to 6pm instead of 1pm,” said Dlamini.
