MBABANE – Eswatini untainted talent has been grasped by countries outside the kingdom’s borders.

Eswatini born afro soul singer Masikane, who is making waves in South Africa, had the grand opportunity of making an appearance on Morning Live last Sunday.

Morning Live is a morning news update show which is aired between 6am and 8am on SABC 2.
It is the first live appearance on South African media that he has made after his newly dropped album titled ‘Mholo Wami’.
Masikane, real name Sifiso Simelane, said he was invited by the hosts of the show for an interview.

“The hosts of the show said they wanted another liSwati on their show and I was one of their choices. I am honoured to be recognised by them,” said the artist.
During the show, Masikane’s roots and his music career was discussed.

“My hope for this interview is to grow my brand,” he said.
Masikane grabbed South Africa’s attention after releasing his album titled ‘Sengkhona’ which had 13 songs and tracks ‘Xenophobia’ and ‘Emabutfo’ were a hit.

Experience

Masikane has also shared the stage with Kwesta, Nathi Mankayi, Oskido, J.R, Ray Phiri, Afrotraction, Vusi Nova, Musa (Idols 2015 winner), Robbie Malinga and others during last year’s Mpumalanga Cultural Experience that was held at Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit in South Africa.
Masikane is not the only liSwati artist to grace Morning Live.

Comedian Mdura, afro soul sensation Zamo, Amanda Mo, Sands, Flameboy Universe and other emaSwati creative minds have been featured in the respected South African show.
