GET READY FOR ESWATINI GLORY AWARDS 2018!

MBABANE – The famous Eswatini Gospel Music Awards are back. Famously known as the Glory Awards, they will be staged in November this year, on a date to be confirmed.

Behind the awards is the Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA).
ACASWA has already informed the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) on its intentions of hosting the awards this year.

To make sure that these awards become a success, the committee, led by Mzwakhe Myeni, is planning to outsource the running of the show to an independent events management company.
Information gathered is that the committee has met several times where the issue of the awards was discussed.

In one of the meetings, it was agreed that they should be outsourced as the committee members were engaged in a number of activities.
It was noted that most of the members were too busy such that it would be difficult for them to be sure that the event takes place.
The last awards were held in 2016 at the Royal Swazi Spa Convention Centre where over 60gospel music artists participated.
Ronnie Dlamini, ACASWA Public Relations Officer (PRO) confirmed that ACASWA would be hosting the awards this year.

“Gospel artists should start preparing themselves for the awards. Preparations have already started and we believe November is the right time to host the awards,” he said.
Dlamini said they would soon be engaging some of the events management companies to see if they could form a partnership with any of them.

“The whole idea is to make sure that the awards are brilliant and they become better than the previous ones,” he said.

He urged gospel music lovers to participate in the awards once all the details had been given to them.
“This is an opportunity for the artists to showcase their work. They should understand how these awards are important to the gospel community ,” he said.
