AMANDA DU-PONT ENGAGED!

MBABANE – Love is the master key that opens the gate of happiness and the way Amanda Du-Pont has been beaming, it is now clear why.

Amanda Du-Pont is officially off the market after her long-time boyfriend Shawn Rodriquez proposed to her on a secluded island in the Maldives.

Amanda has been living her best life on vacation as part of her birthday celebrations which falls on June 26. In a post on her Instagram page the liSwati born actress gushed that Shawn had  popped the question during, a surprise beach picnic. It was there that Shawn got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. It was a definite yes from Du-Pont! 

“Turns out my surprise beach picnic was Shawn Rodriquez’ epic proposal. My darling you sweep me off my feet every single time but this time you had me crying! I said yes to the man I prayed for so specifically, everything you are, is everything I asked (for). Life isn’t perfect, but perfect with you in it. I love loving you, so thrilled to be your fiancé!” read Du-Pont’s Instagram post she shared with her followers.

Rodriquez also took to Instagram to express his love for his ‘Amy’ as he refers to her, saying he felt blessed to have her as his fiancé, “I still have no words Mija. God said wait, and then gave me a blessing beyond my wildest imagination. I love you!”

The beautiful moment was captured on video, which was shared on both Amanda and Shawn’s social media accounts; their followers and celebrities were sending their congratulatory messages to the newly-engaged couple.

Speaking to one of the South African publications about who her man is, Du Pont was quoted saying “He loves God, he supports my career, and he’s not in the industry and he’s got a very laissez-faire attitude to the things people would say ‘OMG, what is this?’ he’s really chilled.”

Judging from the pictures she has shared on Instagram, the two of them are extremely happy together and make an amazing couple. Du-Pont is the first born daughter of Eswatini businessman Tums Du-Pont who when called for comment, said in as much as he was pleased and happy for his daughter, he was still awaiting a formal discussion.

“I am glad that as a young couple they are doing things the right way as marriage is a huge step, but a great one. As a parent when you raise your child you invest so much in them and I can only hope Rodriquez appreciates this and treats her well,” said the business mogul. He said he would not comment further as per the siSwati custom they will wait for the Rodriquez family. Amanda could not be reached for comment as she is reportedly still in the Maldives.
