MBABANE – Music is an international language despite any volatile differences.

Local hip hop lovers will be thrilled to learn that South Africa’s Supa Mega star, AKA has made it to this year’s HipNotik Festival line-up despite the differences he and the Hipnotik directors had in 2016.

That is when the ‘World is Yours’ hit maker ended up not making it to the country for his performance.
However, all that feuding seems to have been ironed out between Swazi Jive and AKA as his management team, ‘The Beam Group’, has confirmed his performance at this year’s festival and they further assured the star’s local fans that he would be bringing a world class performance.

Anticipated

“Aka is for the people and the rapper will be coming to the Kingdom of Eswatini for his fans and to spread the good spirit of music,” said The Beam Group’s Tshiamo Letswene.

The South African rapper has been revealed just days before releasing his much anticipated album titled ‘Touch My Blood’ and his fans will get a chance to see the artist’s performance two weeks after its release.

The album is slated to be released on June 15, and he will be performing at the Hipnotik Music Festival on Friday, July 6, 2018. The festival will last for two days these being July 6 and July 7 respectively.

Also confirming these latest HipNotik Festival developments, was Swazi Jive Director Sakhile Nkambule who said there were many more artists on the line-up which they were finalising contracts with. He said the artists would be spread across the two day festival and fans were encouraged to purchase full festival tickets.

Teased

The Swazi Jive team yesterday teased its fans on social media by uploading a picture of a South African artist asking the fans to guess the HipNotik first headline act, and stand a chance of winning one of 10 VIP tickets and 95 per cent predicted AKA.

Worth noting is that ticket prices have dropped significantly from last year’s prices. Last year’s prices cost E350 for a general Friday pass, E250 for presale. On Saturday the prices were E300 for pre-sale and E450 at the door. While VIP tickets for Friday were E600 at the door and E500 for pre-sale.
