MTN BUSHFIRE LINE-UP NOT AN ISSUE FOR US – PUBLIC

MBABANE – With the BBC’s Number one African festival just a few days away, it is quite evident that fun lovers and festival loyalists are unfazed by this year’s MTN BUSHFIRE line-up.

Social media has been abuzz about how fun lovers expected more exciting artists to perform but that did not hinder ticket sales.
Although the current economic situation may prove to be a barrier for many people who wish to attend the festival but simply can’t afford to, tickets to The MTN BUSHFIRE are indeed flying off the shelves. With the relentless hype surrounding the festival, we took to the streets of The Kingdom of Eswatini’s capital city Mbabane to get wind of what some of the people have to say regarding the festival.

Have you been to MTN BUSHFIRE before?
Yes! I’ve never missed the festival; I’ve been attending since I was a little child.
Do you attend the festival  for the Line-up or the Festival experience?
Because I’ve been to every one for the past 11 events, I’d have to say the line-up doesn’t really matter to me, I go for the festival experience.
If you could pick one artist, local or international, to perform, who would you choose?
Definitely South African group ‘Freshly Ground’, I’ve seen them perform and I would absolutely love to watch them yet again.
Will you be attending the full three days this year?
Yes, all three days, I have the full festival pass so I just can’t wait!

Have you been to MTN BUSHFIRE before?
“I have attended it three times in the past. I definitely go there for the festival experience. The artist  line-up in my own opinion isn’t all that important when it comes to an event like MTN BUSHFIRE.However if I were to  select  one artist to be added, it would be  South African rapper AKA, I’m a Hip Hop fan so I would  love to watch him perform.”
Will you attend the full three days?
“No, I usually attend the festival on one day so this year I chose the Saturday event.”

Have you been to MTN BUSHFIRE before?
“No, this will actually be my first time, I’m really eager to attend and be part of such a huge festival, I’ve been to other festivals around the world so this year I’m looking forward to attend the MTN BUSHFIRE festival.”
Do you attend the BUSHFIRE for the line-up or the Festival experience?
“I’d have to say a little bit of both, I’ve heard great things about the festival and I just mainly want to experience what it is like there.”
If you could pick one artist, local or international to perform, who would you choose?
“I can’t think of one right now but it would definitely be a Finnish act because I’m from Finland so I’d love to see my culture represented.”
Will you attend the full three days?
“I might just attend the full three days just to get an all round experience of the festival. I have the full weekend pass!”

“Yes, I’ve been there twice, it is always a blast!”
Do you attend the festival for the line-up or the experience?
“I’d have to say both. Even though people don’t really go to MTN BUSHFIRE for the performances, the line-up is a form of entertainment so it’s important.”
If you could pick one artist, local or international to perform, who would you choose?
“DJ Black Coffee! I think the House music factor is definitely missing this year. As a house fanatic I’d really love to see more house music acts incorporated.”
Will you attend the full three days?
“No, I’ll attend the festival only on Saturday and Sunday.”

“Yes, we went there last year and we had a lot of fun.”
Do you attend the event for the line-up or the festival experience?
“Both because the line-up adds to the entertainment aspect but because there is so much buzz around the festival, the experience is also something we want to be a part of.”
If you could pick one artist, local or international to perform, who would you choose?
“South African rapper Priddy Ugly ,or American trap trio Migos.”
Will you attend the full three days?
“No, the tickets are a bit pricey but we don’t want to allow that to dampen our festival experience, even if it’s just one day. I will go on  the Saturday.”

“No, this will actually be my first time.”

“The performances and the experience both add to the fun of the event, so I have to say both.”
If you could pick one artist, local or international to perform, who would, you choose?
“I’m content with the line-up because my favourite musician Sands will be there performing.”

“No, I’m actually planning on attending the Friday and Saturday events.”

“Yes, I actually performed last year but this year I’m going just for fun.”
Do you attend the MTN BUSHFIRE for the line-up or the festival experience?
“For me, the festival experience is mostly what draws the crowds of fun lovers and festival goers more than the performances themselves.”
