From the local catwalks of Swaziland to the runways in Ghana, Swazi model Niza made her Accra Fashion Week debut in style.
The Accra Fashion Week is home to many influential African and international designers such as the United Kingdom’s Tobams Colours, Ghanaian designer Mish Mega, America’s Tidal cool and Botswana’s very own Thabie, just to name a few.

With the various fashion weeks across Africa and a growing thirst for African fashion creativity across the world, Accra Fashion Week aims to fill the void which sees tremendous creativity and culture, with the absence of an operating business in Africa.

Niza Siwale, The 26- year-old budding model is surely making all the right strides in as far as her modelling career is concerned, strutting her stuff for prominent designers from all over the world.
For Niza, this all happened in under four months after venturing into modelling and she explored this side with the coaching of Top Model Swazi Director Mbalenhle Manana, who has groomed many models like Snowee and Coralee.
We sat down with this bubbly model for a quick Q&A session and this is how it went:

Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Mbabane and raised in Ezulwini, Mlindazwe and I loved growing up there. I was treated in a special way by my peers because of my ‘out of the norm’ name and surname. I had such a memorable upbringing.

Where did you go to school?
Did my primary school at Ezulwini Community Primary School, Secondary at Ezulwini Community High School and completed at Ka-Boyce High School. For my tertiary education, I enrolled with Amadi City Campus, where I studied Business Management and Communications. I’m currently one of the Directors at Right Choice Motors at The Gables.

How old are you?
I’m 26 years old and sooo loving it. I am embracing the changes that are coming with age. I am trying new things like modelling. I love this part of me!

When and how were you first introduced into modelling?
I joined Top Models Swaziland in 2013 but backed out after joining Miss Swaziland and making it to the top five. After, I concentrated on my studies and bounced back at TMS just recently.

Which Agency are you signed in currently?
I’m signed under Top Models Swaziland; forever and always.

How was your Accra Fashion Week experience?
My Accra Fashion Week was extremely exciting and I was a bit nervous because it was my first international show and first time on the runway. I will be off this week with the team for castings in Johannesburg for SAFW. TMS’s major show is the United States of America this coming July and I can’t wait for that one as well.

What did you learn from that whole experience?
I learnt a lot actually and I am so happy to start with a great show in Ghana as it marketed me and my talents on the ramp a lot. I got a couple of invitations from Mr Raj Mercedes Benz director, whom mum, TMS Director was communicating with, met with us and he just loved us and took us for the winter show scheduled for the July 26 to 29. Secondly, Andrew, the CEO of Tendance Modelling will also send invitations for upcoming Togo Fashion Week. Terrence, the CEO of Tellys Modelling already asked us that we come for Seychelles Fashion Week scheduled for the first week of December, so I’m very excited about that. I and my team are yet to rock many run ways this year!
