MORE ARTISTS TO BE ADDED FOR BUSHFIRE MAIN STAGE

MBABANE – It was not the full and final line-up for the MTN BUSHFIRE 2018!


House on Fire’s Communications Manager Noncedo Dlamini said the line-up that was revealed last Friday, during the MTN BUSHFIRE 2018 launch, was not the final list of artists who were to perform in the country.


The artists who were revealed are the ones who are set to perform on the main stage.
Only two Swazis were among the enlisted artists who are to perform at the festival’s main stage, and they are; Jazz and Traditional music sensation Tlale Makhene and award-winning Country music duo Dusty and Stones.


“These are not the only Swazis who will be performing on the main stage. In the next couple of weeks, we will be revealing other Swazi and international artists who are to perform on the main stage during the festival.


“The line-up, which we revealed during the launch, was not final,” said Dlamini. Among the artists who were revealed included Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a South African male choral group who in the vocal styles of isicathamiya and mbube. They were formed by Joseph Shabalala in 1960 and later became one of South Africa’s most prolific recording artists, with their releases receiving gold and platinum disc honours. The group has since become a mobile academy, teaching people about South Africa and its culture.


Last year, the won the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album and they have many other international awards.
“We are yet to add more artists of Lady Smith Black Mambazo’s calibre,” said Dlamini.
