MBABANE – Remember the name ‘Symphony.’ In an industry awash with talent, but with the production side dominated by a stubbornly male establishment, local music sensation Symphony, whose real name is Zanele Cele, has taken charge of her own music and launched her first ever album titled ‘Sengikhona.’

As the Royal Swazi Convention Centre filled with music lovers on a wet Saturday evening, one could tell that these people were ready to witness a stellar performance from Symphony.

Symphony isn’t loved by hundreds of music lovers around the country for nothing and this was evident as over 200 of her fans sat comfortably in anticipation for her to take over the stage. First on stage to warm up the audience with his churchy trumpet melodies was Fakazi, who performed two songs. His last rendition of ‘Jesus loves me’ got the crowd in frenzy as they screamed and cheered on him while playing.

Next on the line-up was Itallo Dlamini, who performed only one song, which towards the end of it he invited Fakazi on stage for them to play the trumpet simultaneously.

Bholoja proved why he has been dubbed as one of the greatest artists to ever come out of Swaziland, as he dished out a fresh solo full sound that took everyone to a place of tranquility and appreciation of the Swazi culture.

In the midst of the audience were the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Paul Dlamini, Mbabane East MP Esther Dlamini and Minister of Labour and Social Security Winnie Magagula. Worth noting, however, is that Swaziland National Arts and Culture CEO Stanley Dlamini, Pastor Lington, Pastor Bheki and Zandi Thwala were also present during the launch.

Smallz, the comedian, gave a fair share of his own talent as he also graced the audience with his jokes on stage.
During his five minute set, the comedian sang to Sand’s Tigi song’s beat and went on about Qhibo not being taken along by Sands to his glamorous life.

Introducing Symphony on stage was South African businessman Johanness Sibiya, who said he was excited to see the growth of arts in the country and that he couldn’t wait to have yet another star blow up as Sands did.
