WORSHIP CENTRE CROWNS FIRST ‘PROM’ KING/QUEEN

MBABANE – The first ever church’s prom night saw two committed and well-dressed youth members being crowned King and Queen.

Mbabane Worship Centre Church members Nonduduzo Mngometulu and Bonginkosi Themba were crowned as the first Worship

Centre’s Prom Queen and King last Saturday.
This was during an event held at the church premises at Eveni in Mbabane. Also in attendance was Apostle Justice Dlamini, who is the founder of the church.

The church members, especially the youth, had been told to come dressed in formal /evening wear as they would be competing for the title.

They did exactly that as they seemed to have all been prepared to try their luck.
They first made a grand parade as they showcased their catwalk skills, trying to convince the judges, who were made of church members Emmanuel Khomo and Sihle Malindzisa.

They were made to parade twice before the judges announced the winners. As they paraded, they all looked confident and had the hope that they would take the title home. The youth were simply judged on their dress code and confidence on stage.
Before the winners were announced, those who attended got the opportunity to watch performances from various artists, who were all at their best. These included Hip Hop artist Sea Water and comedian Mdura.
It was just after 1am when the results were released. The over 15 contestants were asked to parade for the last time for the judges to see them.

After the parade, first to be announced was the Best Dressed Couple and winning this title were Samkelo mamba and Bongiwe Kunene.
After the two were announced, the winners were then announced. Mngometulu seemed to be shocked as she said she was not expecting to win.

“This is funny. I was not expecting to win. Thanks to the judges who saw my potential. I am excited and thanks to the Apostle who created such a platform for us,” she said.
