MBABANE – The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals. Reign Entertainment and Magazine International is a year old stable that was established in January 2017 and for this milestone, they will be celebrating it through hosting a festival whereby they will be celebrating their achievements and also give a platform to Swazi artists and fashionistas to showcase their talents on the day.

Reign Festival is a family-friendly event that will have an outstanding record of environmental awareness as evidenced by its attention to recycling and re-use.
The festival will be a local based event mostly focusing on Swazi talent to expose them to the world. The festival organisers have revealed that there will also be entertainers from outside Swaziland for the sake of contributing towards having a show that will be packed as they have previously seen that some South African acts do manage to pull a crowd.

The festival will take place from April 20th to 22nd and the venue is yet to be announced.
Tickets to the festival will cost E500 for standard ticket entry and E1 050 VIP.

“As a Reign Team we decided to come up with the festival as a way of celebrating our hard work throughout the previous year. We don’t want to celebrate it alone but we want the whole nation to join us as we celebrate,” said Reign’s Emmanuel Kom.
Kom further said Reign Festival would be a major annual event in Swaziland’s music calendar, which will be eagerly anticipated each year by a crowd of people who will flock from all over Swaziland, outside Africa and from the many diverse communities in the Southern Africa region.

As it will be recognised as one of the country’s leading festival events, Reign Festival will be acknowledged for its commitment to the wellbeing of the nation. The festival will be acknowledged as an innovator in implementing policies that reflect a social and environmental responsibility.

The festival’s theme will be ‘The Beginning’, which, according to Kom, is a theme that will be reflected in this year’s festival with expanded entertainment, family fun, parades, cheer leading and many more activities that will take place.
Kom continued to state that the whole idea of Reign Festival is to promote local artists and making sure they get the right local platform to boost their portfolios before requesting for performances outside of the country.
