MBABANE – They charge E150 000 per performance, but for their fallen hero they will bid him farewell for free.

South Africa’s Tswana Gospel Choir have been touched by the death of Victor Gamedze and have offered a free performance during his memorial service and funeral, this coming weekend.

Partnership

The group met Gamedze during the recent partnership between Umlilo/Swazi Mobile Crossover.
They were one of the main performances on the night.  The group’s founder and leader, Bheki Langa, has already communicated the offer to Mduduzi ‘Gawuzela’ Simelane whom he asked to convey the message to the Gamedze family and Swazi Mobile Management.

Langa said Gamedze died at a time when the group had a lot of plans which were aligned with the communications business.
He said after being informed that Gamedze was no more, they felt they needed to pay respect to the man who made the Umlilo Crossover possible.

He went on to say that their wish was to perform at both the memorial service on Saturday and the funeral on Sunday.

Members

He said he would be coming with all of their 15 members, adding that they wanted to make sure that they gave Gamedze a proper send-off.
Gawuzela, the Director of Umlilo Music who was responsible for  organising the crossover also confirmed that the group had offered a free performance.

“Tshwane Gospel Choir has been a partner in the crossover for two years. When Swazi Mobile agreed to be the main sponsor last year, we were all excited,” he said.
