MBABANE – Sands’ ‘Tigi’ wrapped up the 2017 on a high by being officially declared as the Biggest Song on radio in South Africa.

This declaration was made by Radio Monitor SA on December 31 and this is the same entity which listed ‘Tigi’ as the third most played song on South African radio about a month ago.

‘Tigi’ was said to have had more than one billion impacts meaning that people asked for its airing more than one billion times.
Other songs which were listed as the most played songs on South African radio was ‘Akanamali’ by SunEl Musician and Samthing Sowetan, ‘The World is yours’ by AKA and other hit tracks.

Swaziland’s golden boy and ‘Tigi’ hit maker Sandziso ‘Sands’ Matsebula stated that he is grateful for all these recognitions that he has acquired in 2017.
“I am lucky to have had the opportunity of being presented with all these achievements but the aim is to do better this year. This is all God’s work and what I had expected is immaterial.

“I am grateful that I have a career more than I am surprised about where it has brought me,” he said.

Radio Monitor is the industry standard airplay monitoring service used by all major record labels as well as artists, managers, label services and performing rights organisations across Europe.

They monitor music airplay across Europe, Canada, South Africa, Australasia and the Middle East and compile daily airplay charts for 90 countries as well as providing powerful in-depth analysis to all parts of the record industry.
