PAGEANTS SD NOT AWARE OF MISS AFRICA TRIP

MBABANE – Pageants SD is adamant that it is not associated with Phumzile Thwala’s Miss Africa trip.

Pageants SD President Catriene Potgeiter revealed that the committee which oversees and regulates pageants in the country was not aware  that the former Miss Cultural Heritage trip to compete in Miss Africa in Nigeria is set for December 27.

Potgeiter blatantly stated that it had come to their attention that there is a letter circulating stating that Swaziland sent a participant to Miss Africa which is currently underway in Nigeria.
“This statement is untrue as Miss Africa, where our own Phiwayinkhosi Tshangela took the ultimate prize, was crowned a month ago.

“We would like to inform the public at large that we have not sent a representative to this competition.
Also, we have not received any invitation to attend,” she said.
She also added that Pageant SD distances themselves from the Miss Africa competition as they only send representatives to the original and authentic international pageants.

Pageants SD is the mother body of all pageants in the country. Their duties entail making sure that representatives go to authentic pageants. They receive and approve invitations from international pageants. They are also the licensing board for pageants that happen in the country.
