MBABANE –  For progress, change is sometimes inevitable. After 11 years of annually enjoying the most anticipated show, Summer Showdown every end of the  year, it has been revealed the concept has changed to Summer Lounging Experience.

Summer Showdown was one of the most anticipated shows of the festive season, and it attracted thousands of fun lovers and deep house music fanatics.

The show started off at Mhlambanyatsi Club as an outdoor event  but it moved to Solani’s Shisanyama and Hawane Resort in the past two years.
Urban Element’s Tubuko ‘Tibza’ Nxumalo highlighted though that the organising crew is still continuing with the concept. They have changed the concept to Summer Lounging Experience, which will be a more intimate version of Summer Showdown. This year’s Summer Lounging Experience is set for December 23 at Yoruba Lounge at The George Hotel in Manzini. “The main reason behind the change of concept is finances; we had to book venues which sometimes charged large amounts.

“We agreed that this year’s event hosted at Yoruba Lounge since it is the new home for Urban Elements,” said Nxumalo.
The show’s motive is to wind down the year with  good music that is dished out by different DJs throughout the day and night. The event has also incorporated local performances which include hip hop artists as well.

New talent and Claiming Grounds artists, KrTC, Mozaik, and Nomalungelo have been incorporated in the event.
Nxumalo also stated that the ambience of the show will be the same as the previous shows.
“The only difference is that this show is only limited to 200 people, so people should quickly buy tickets once they are out in the first week of December,” he said.
