Asandze Maphanga a.k.a ‘Sleek Ace’ is a rapper/producer from the north side of the country, Pigg’s Peak.
He found his passion for music at the age of 11. Although he only began taking his baby steps at the age of 12 when he was part of a rap group with Sizolwethu Mavuso who is popularly known as ‘Jurie tha Rap Lord’ and Junior Chiyanda a.k.a CeEJAYTha9r.

Together, they had the whole of their small town by storm with multiple shows rendering what they do best, and years later they all had to take their different lanes in music as a journey to achieving their goals.
Over the past few years, Sleek Ace has been working tirelessly on his beloved craft and the future is only just looking brighter as he embraces both his rapper and producer sides. “It’s amazing how people get to appreciate my work because every time I get a compliment, I’m so surprised why they love it so much; it is only just the beginning for me. I’ve always seen the vision of being at the level I’m at now and the amazing thing is I’m always visioning far better than where I’m at now and believe you me we are taking this to another planet (laughs)”.

Recently, Sleek Ace collaborated with Swazi Boy’s artist ‘Lyrikal Busta’ and producer Neves Aox for the production of the hit song ‘Dance for Mi’ which is currently going up the ranks on the SBIS 2 Top 20 charts as it graduated to the top 10 songs at only 3 weeks of its debut.
In making the song, Sleek Ace made the instrumental and was excited to have Lyrikal Busta go on the beat and had Neves Aox do the final mixing and mastering. Considering 7 is his lucky number, he mentions being where he is at now was one of his 2017 resolutions and he also mentioned that there’s more in the bag. “I would like to appreciate the support we are getting now and also assure people that there is more good music coming, I’ll be releasing a new single by myself in a few weeks.” “I’ve always been around as most people get to wonder where you have been. The only difference with me is that I like to take my time on any given task because I’m a perfectionist, not after the fame. Music has to do the talking for you”.

“There are many challenges to face in the music industry; from laying down an idea that is only just running in your mind to make it come to life, to creating it in such a way that you want a greater population to love it, to actually continue climbing up that ladder because every step lets you know something new and you need some kind of courage to actually keep your foot on the pedal.
“Sometimes you have an idea, try to put it down and it just never works probably because the inspiration is just not there which is basically not an issue anyway, it happens.

“Currently under Fish Entertainment, I’m personal producer to Lyrikal Busta (we met at university), Neves Aox on the production. I also have projects coming up featuring Ncwiki Flex and one other artist to keep on the lookout for is singer S’miso Dlamini who goes by the stage name ‘S.A.U.C.E’, and trust me he is saucy with the vocals.
My first project was a collabo mixtape back in 2014, a solo mixtape in 2015, then a joint EP in 2016 where I worked with Osyr.
This year I dropped a beat tape online for listening.
Right now I just want to work on giving the people hit singles to build up the audience and when I’m ready I’m hoping to drop an album. I have so much on the plate, watch the space.”
