MBABANE – It will be survival of the fittest during the Ntjilontjilo Choral Fest as five choirs compete for the E50 000 prize.

The festival which will held on Sunday, October 15, at the Sports Emporium Hall at Ezulwini will see Mbabane Methodist Church Choir, Sweet Sounds, Manzini Choir, Royal Swazi Spa Choir and William Pitcher competing against each other.

Apart from sharing the prize money, two of the winning choirs will get a free ticket to compete at the Mpumalanga Choral Music Festival in December.

The winners of the competition will take home E10 000 and  the runners up will win E8 500 each .
The festival was first introduced last year and saw more than 10 choirs competing, in its first show.

However, due to the ongoing final examinations, the choirs competing had to be reduced to five as most choristers are committed in as far as the exams are concerned.
Mathokoza Sibiya who is behind the Ntjilontjilo Choral Fest said all is set for the event.
“We will be having solo and kiddies sections before the mixed choirs. We will also be having the Amadodana and Zion Choirs competing,” he said.

He said choral music lovers should make sure they do not miss this event as it will be nothing but the best.
He said this year the festival will be more exciting for the music lovers.

“I am excited to say that this year we have made the festival more exciting. Thank you to the sponsors who have already indicated that they would be with us even this year,” he said.
