MBABANE – In Linda Shiba’s world, it’s not just fashion that is outstanding, but his brains too.

The Fulbright Program under the U.S Embassy has announced that they will be sending Linda Shiba who is  known as a fashion designer and stylist to Ohio University to pursue a Master’s Degree in Financial Economics. Linda is a Finance Officer in the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Affairs Department, and the co-Director of Imitsanyelo We Fashion Front (IWFF). Even though his job keeps him very busy, Linda still makes time to work with the youth through a non-profit organisation he founded known as Asijabule Foundation.

The organisation’s mandate is to empower the youth to be drivers of change in combining their skills, talents and interests through the practice of philanthropy. It does this through helping the youth tap into their passions and then use these passions for social transformation through art, environmental consciousness, and education.
On a social media post that the Embassy posted, they expressed just how much they are thrilled for Linda and further invited his friends and followers to wish him well as he undertakes this adventure of academic, professional and personal development.

The Fulbright Program, the flagship international educational exchange programme sponsored by the U.S. Government, is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. The Fulbright Program offers grants to study teach and conduct research for U.S. citizens to go abroad and for non-U.S. citizens to come to the United States.

The primary source of funding is an annual appropriation by the U.S. Congress to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
Participating governments and host institutions, as well as corporations and foundations in foreign countries and in the United States also provide direct and indirect support.
