MBABANE – They say the early bird catches the fattest worm. Artists who hope to perform at next year’s MTN BUSHFIRE Festival will be able to start applying from August 14 in preparation for the biggest music festival in the country.

MTN Bushfire 2018 has announced the launch of artist applications for the 12th edition of one of the Top 7 festivals in Africa as listed by BBC.

Scheduled for 25 – 27 May 2018, MTN Bushfire’s eclectic and multi-dimensional programming is rooted in world music – with a particular emphasis on African sounds and further features a compelling line-up of theatre, poetry, dance, Art exhibits and installations, story-telling, puppetry, film, speakers, and themed workshops.

The festival is looking for inspired African and international musicians and artists in all creative mediums to ‘Bring Your Fire’ and support the festival’s call to action mandate that donates a percentage of profits to Swaziland’s orphans through NGOs, Young Heroes and 100 per cent merchandise proceeds to non-profit BoMake Rural Projects’ community development projects.
Celebrating creative expression while promoting social responsibility, stimulating the economy and attracting over 26 000 attendees from across Africa and around the world to the scenic Malkerns Valley, MTN Bushfire provides an unparalleled opportunity for both established and emerging talent to showcase their work.

Deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2017. Application forms can be downloaded from the MTN BUSHFIRE website (www.bush-fire.com).
“Due to the large number of submissions, only successful applicants will be contacted,” said Noncedo Dlamini, the PRO of House on Fire.

She added that MTN BUSHFIRE is more than a festival as it is a living, breathing ecosystem deeply rooted in African soil, yet inclusive and welcoming to guests from all over the world.
This uniquely African, and yet globally infused festival experience welcomes thousands of people in an atmosphere of tolerance and passionate commitment to music, the arts and the environment. Every year, over 26 000 attendees hailing from 60 different countries converge on the peaceful Malkerns Valley for an energising and uplifting weekend that celebrates the music and arts of Africa and beyond.
MTN Bushfire invites all fans of music, the arts, cultural exploration and environmental sustainability to become part of the thriving community that is the annual festival.
