MBABANE – “In the early hours of Sunday morning we sneaked out of Swaziland fearing for our lives.”

These were the words of Professor’s manager Scotch when addressing the chaos that resulted in patrons being injured and the South African musician not performing at the Dvuladvula Fest held at Mhlume Country Club on July 29.
Professor’s management has revealed that the artist was in a room at Mhlume Country Club when bottles and stones flew during the chaos that erupted.
In a statement addressed to media they also confirmed that the artist never made it to the stage due to the power outage and violence that ensued. Scotch said they were very disappointed by the violent outbursts by fans.

Disappointment

“I write this with great disappointment at the chaos that erupted on July 29, 2017, at the Mhlume Country Club in Swaziland.
“We want to clarify that the organisers did everything by the book, Professor was paid in full three weeks before the date of the scheduled event, accommodation was booked, so everything was in order.
“We are still not sure how the chaos transpired as we were meant to be on stage between 2.30am – 3.30am. We were in our rooms when we were told that people are vandalising equipment at the venue, and in doing so, it was unsafe for us to go there.

“However, we do hereby apologise for the mayhem and would like to know what the way forward will be in terms of fixing this issue. We respect you as you are professionals in your field, and we do not want to lose our Swaziland fan base, as well as the promoters,” reads part of the statement .
Scotch further said he still does not think that the  mayhem was as a result of ‘Professor’s no-show’, as Professor was in the country and at Mhlume but due to power outage could not go on stage.

Supporting

“We respect our Swazi fans that have been supporting us since day one,” the statement read.
Also contacted for comment was the event organiser Martin  ‘DJ Kish’ Dlamini who said that they were very apologetic for the events that occurred on the said night. He said that as an entertainment stable they prided themselves in delivery and it was unfortunate that the power outage changed what promised to have been a great show.
