MBABANE – He was called to sing praises, not only to His Majesty King Mswati III but also to the King of Kings Jesus Christ.

Msandi Kababa, who is popularly known as a poet and the King’s praise singer is due to release a gospel album next month, where he will collaborate with local gospel artists including Nothando Hlophe of Kululugcobo fame and Linda Dlamini.

Already on the airwaves is his single where he features Nothando titled Kanye Nawe Nkosi.
Msandi during an interview with the Entertainment Desk said he was yet to assign a title to the album as led by the spirit because all the songs that he has composed for the upcoming album were not penned down into formal lyrics as is the case with many musicians but were songs that were spirit led and from the core of his heart.  He revealed that the reason behind the full gospel offering was the urge he felt to thank God for everything that He has done for him.

“God has done so many great things in my life and this came from an inner urge to share my spiritual journey with others, to encourage them not to only run to God when in need but simply to remember to give thanks and praise God for helping them through adversity and tough times which last only for a moment but with God on our side, we always have a way to pull through and emerge victorious,” he said.

Having released his last album in 2008, which was a fusion of traditional music and gospel he said the difference this time was the fact that he had been elevated to a spiritual height that dictated his need to heal souls, share a message of higher meaning while encouraging people to hang on to their faith and grow from one spiritual level to the next.

Speaking about the collaborations, Msandi said he found it very important to work with other artists as it enhances unity and support among industry mates. “With collaborations as artists we help each other to grow even on individual basis.”
