MBABANE – They tried to use every trick in the book to make sure that Dr Tumi comes into the country without being paid even a cent.

The organisers of the show went to the extent of using the Their Majesty’s name as a way of convincing the South African gospel music star to come into the country.
The award winning star was threatened with the King and the Queen Mother’s names as he was told that they were expecting him to attend the show.

The organisers went on to say their Majesties were willing to foot all Dr Tumi’s expenses.

Charity

The ‘Nothing without You’ hit maker was expected to perform on Saturday night courtesy of a charity organisation known as Toy Story. This was the organisations first major event since its establishment.
The show which had sold out tickets, was cancelled just four hours before the proposed start, after Dr Tumi announced on his social media pages that he was no longer coming.

One of the main reasons that made Dr Tumi not to attend the show was money. He said they cheques they had given him had bounced.
His fans were, however, livid at the artist for not announcing in time after realising the cheques were null and void.
In his defence, Dr Tumi said he did not announce cancellation early in the week because he hoped the organisers would meet their obligations, as per the signed contract.
