SIDVOKODVO - There is no stronger relationship than that of a car drifter and his gusheshe.

This mantra has proven to be one of the statements most car spinners live by as they believe that burning tyres through spinning and drifting is what has saved many from immoral acts.
On Saturday, during a partly cloudy day in Sidvokodvo, traffic pushed through the crowd where it could until word broke out that the spinning event was in motion.
Spinners that took to the arena with their loud engines and crazy displays of stunts included,Team Brema , Mahhota, Marami, Team Swazi,Suid Crew, Swazi Machine, Matsapha Crew, Masina Brothers, Revolution Crew, Team Eddie, Stupid Crew,Team Lrc,Team Salim, Alteeza Crew, Ghetto Ruff and Twins.

Just as the summer sun was setting over the traffic lights that winked green, orange, red vainly at the spinning arena, the first gusheshe (a BMW 325i) started spinning.
Flashes of sparks from its rims flashed in the rapidly darkening air and that is when over 900 people that had attended the event started screaming and cheering in excitement showing that the event had officially started.
The gusheshe spinned and twisted as it roared in figure eight patterns across the tarmac, throwing doughnuts and power slides, emiting fumes and leaving bushels of rubber scattered. Every second or third power slide took the tail swinging toward the spectators who dodged it with practiced ease.

Whenever there were long lulls in movement, the spinners’ fans would rush forward, piling onto the car trying to touch the driver until he took off again.
Every now and then the passenger door would open and its occupant would clamber out, hang backwards with his head a few inches off the ground or through the window to run alongside while holding onto the roaring, revolving car.
Interestingly enough, when touring where the cars were heated up before spinning one could tell that all these spinners have a special relationship with their cars as they would regurlarly brush and polish them while hitting on the accelerator preparing to spin them like wild fire.

The event proved to be a success as people as far as Mbabane, Mozambique and South Africa came through to witness the tricks that the cars would display.
The event lasted up until the early hours of Sunday morning as the DJ also kept the crowd on their tippy toes in-between the sets of the cars.
