LUVE – Most people believe that music does pay but the opposite is a true life story for Ukuthokoza Kwamadodana Gospel Group’s long serving member Mfanukhona Lukhele.

South African businessman Johannes Sibiya has spent over E300 000 in building a house for Lukhele.
Sibiya who is a well-known music producer as he has produced and managed successful artists who include Thabile Myeni, Phathwakahle Mabuza, Simangele Dlamini of Emandlegazi Gospel Group and Mzwakhe Myeni, identified the artist’s needs after paying him a visit.

The unemployed artist was lucky to be visited by Sibiya who then noticed that the house he was staying in with his seven other family members was falling apart.
He then decided to build a new house for the artist. Construction has already begun and the house is close to completion. Once the house has been completed, new furniture will be bought so he can stay comfortable with his family.

Progress

On Saturday, Sibiya together with some choir members visited the family to check on progress since the construction is ongoing.
They spent the better part of the day helping the builders as they continued with their work.
Sibiya said he did not do this because Lukhele was an artist who happens to be part of a group he has worked with but it was simply because he noticed that he needed help.

“When I went there, I felt pity for the family and decided that with the little I have, I should help them. I am here just to monitor the progress and I am happy so far,” he said.
Sibiya said Lukhele was not the first person  he has assisted, saying there were a number of people who needed help locally and he has always gladly assisted.

“I am one person who believes that I should share the little I have with those who happen to be needy. It is one of the reasons you find that I always drive around the rural areas to see where I can best assist with what I have,” he said.

Mbongwa Dlamini, Ukuthokoza Kwamadodana Gospel Group member, said they were grateful by what Sibiya had done.
“When he informed us that he wanted to build the house, we were so touched. It is one of the reasons why we are here today, we also have to play a part in making sure that the project becomes a success,” he said.
