Durban – Talk Swazi deejays and sounds in the streets of South Africa, Durban and the locals will say only one name ‘DJ Touch of Soul’.

The trailblazing Swazi spinner and producing artist DJ Touch of Soul literally left Durban revellers yearning for more on Monday evening at a show dubbed ‘Monday Therapy’ which was held at Eyadini Lounge, on the eve of the start of Tourism Indaba 2017.

DJ Touch of Soul was the only Swazi in the line up of prolific DJs who kept the crowd on their feet at the famous Umlazi spot. Some of the DJs who performed on the night included DJ Phumz, Team Deep, Stefan, Gukwa, DJ Siya among others. Also present were Professor, DJ Cyndo, DJ Tizalami, and Bhar, among others.

In an interview prior to his performance, the talented spinner said he was overwhelmed by the reception he kept getting in South Africa, and said it was proof that Swazi artists had come of age.

“I have always maintained my identity as a Swazi, and that on its own raises so much anxiety to the South African audience every time I perform, mainly because they never imagined that such a small country like ours could have DJs and artists who can stand their own in such a fierce and competitive industry,” he said.

The Mbabane born and bred DJ narrated how he got to be Durban’s most sought after DJ from his varsity days at the Durban University of Technology, where he used to play at campus gigs which landed him widespread recognition.
“Today I’m proud to say I followed my passion, and broke into the mainstream as a proud Swazi who believes in the unifying power of music,” he said.
