MISS SD 2017 PAGEANT OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

NOKWANE – The Miss Swaziland pageant 2017/18 was launched on Friday night at Summerfield Botanical Gardens.

The private affair which saw invited guests who were about 20, started shortly after 9pm. The event had been slated to start at 6pm.
The committee was revealed and they are Thembekile Magongo who is the PRO, Lungelo Vilakati who is the Creative Director, Ngcebo Nxumalo, Nosipho Dlamini who is a Scouting Manager and Telamsile Zubuko who is the Administrator and former Miss Swaziland 2nd Princess.

Addressing the guests Nosisa Maziya revealed that she was motivated by her love for organising events to become the pageant’s director. “I had a certain vision for the Miss Swaziland pageant. My  daughter, growing up daily in front of my eyes  has  been part of the  inspiration for me. She made me realise that there was no platform for the youth to step up and show up to realise their dreams.

It is ok to work hard to attain your dreams. I was motivated to do it because if as young people we do not do it, then who will?” She probed.

She also appealed to prospective sponsors and promised them that the 10 girls that would be selected would be working as ambassadors for the country and carrying out various social responsibilities.

Elimination

Thembekile, the Public Relations Officer  revealed that there would be an elimination phase that will be split into four elimination rounds.
There will be a social media challenge where the top 30 will be given certain social responsibilities, where the aim is to gain an impressive following but also to get dialogue started.
