‘SANDS,’ PROMOTER IN HEATED DEBATE ON AIR
MBABANE – Trending local artist Sandziso ‘Sands’ Matsebula tasted the bitter side of fame when he was engaged in a heated argument with a promoter on air.
The argument was over a show in Middleburg where the ‘Tigi’ fame artist was expected to perform.
‘Sands’ did not pitch up at the show scheduled for last Saturday. And Rise FM presenter called Sands’ promoter Mabhodo to find out why the Swazi artist failed to honour his invitation.
It was during the interview with the radio station that the promoter blamed Sands for not pitching up for his show. He said as hosts of the show they had met all the requirements needed to bring the artist, only for him not to pitch up.
After the promoter was interviewed, Sands was called as he had to state his side of the story.
Sands said that in as far as he knew, the promoter had not fulfilled their demands and therefore it was impossible for him to attend the show.
While he was explaining, the promoter was then asked if what Sands was saying was indeed true. That is when Sands realised that they were both on air.
The promoter seemed to have been infuriated by the artist’s comments as he went on to pass unpalatable expletives at Sands saying he was disappointed that he did not attend his show and would make means of disturbing his music career.
Seeing that the argument was becoming a serious one, Sands then mentioned that he would no longer address the matter publicly saying his management would handle all the concerns.
