MBABANE – Local talent at its best will  be viewed across South Africa.

Leading South African entertainment television magazine show LiveAMP, which airs on SABC1 on Fridays, has been successfully brought on board as one of the official international media to cover the much-anticipated inaugural MTN SWAMA Music Awards.
The awards night is tentatively slated for August 5, 2017, possibly at the Royal Swazi Convention Centre.

Sealing of the coverage deal with LiveAMP was revealed by the chairman of the MTN SWAMA MAs organising committee, Melusi ‘Zox’ Dlamini, upon return from attending the SAMA 23 Nominees’ Launch party which was held last week in Johannesburg. Dlamini had travelled with SWAMA President Lutfo Dlamini, awards committee members Larry Mhlanga and Penny Bouwer.

“Many media houses and channels like BET Africa have approached us and shown great interest in the local music scene and the SABC has confirmed they will be covering the upcoming MTN SWAMA Music Awards. This was after a successful meeting with Sjula Dlamini, who is the executive producer of LiveAMP,” revealed Dlamini.

Dlamini also said that LiveAMP will cover both the nominees’ party scheduled for June 3 and the main event on August 5, 2017.
“Sjula was very excited to meet us, and confirmed that they have always had an interest to cover premier entertainment events in Swaziland. He apparently already knew about our forthcoming awards show, and affirmed that he will be sending his team for a holistic coverage,” he said.

Meanwhile, over and above just attending the event to learn and see how RISA does things, Dlamini stated that the Swaziland delegation at last week’s SAMA 23 Nominees’ Launch party used the opportunity to network and sit in meetings with a couple of major industry players, to find ways in which Swaziland can grow its own industry independently.
