MBABANE – The claws are definitely out in the ongoing beef between Swazi Jive Entertainment and Thasa Investments.

The Times Entertainment Desk is in possession of a letter of demand that Swazi Jive has given its former partner Thasa Investments to pay an amount of E70 000 they allegedly defrauded last year during the booking of top African artist Burna Boy.
Swazi Jive has given Thasa Investments seven days from April 7, 2017 to pay back the said amount.
Thasa Group was allegedly tasked to handle the booking of the artist for the Hipnotik Festival in 2016. The said amount was transferred to the account of Thasa Investments’s Thabo Shishwashwa.

Invoice

The letter reads as such; “It has been observed that you have committed fraud by claiming fake bills, sending an invoice and accepting payment of E70 000 you claimed was going towards the booking of the artist Burna Boy.
This has led to an integrity issue for the Hipnotik Festival and raised issues of negligence towards the organisation and its values.
“In 2016 you misrepresented yourself as an agent that was entrusted to carry out instructions by Burna Boy’s management. You claimed that you were entrusted to receive the deposit of E70 000 and pay Picasso Entertainment and Burna Boy’s team but you did not pay money to either party or even engage them for booking details.”
The letter further confirms the alleged bank account the money was deposited into and states that should Thabo Shishwashwa not pay the said amount within the days requested by Swazi Jive, the matter would be taken a step further to the courts.
The invoice that is in the Times Entertainment Desk’s possession revealed that Thasa Investments claimed that Burna Boy’s performance fee was US$10 000.

statements

Proof of payment by Swazi Jive Entertainment of two E35 000 transactions are also in our possession, in the form of bank statements that show that Shishwashwa was paid the E70 000.
It was noted that this was not the first time Shishwashwa found himself being sued by an event organiser for allegedly defrauding them.
