MPUMALANGA – It was as if the gates of heaven were open , as glory filled the hall  as His name was praised during  the Mpumalanga Praise launch.

The group founded by Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane recorded a full house during the launch of its first CD and DVD held on Saturday night. Mpumalanga unveiled its live CD and DVD at the Church on The Hill hall recording over 3 000 gospel music lovers. Featured in the new choirs music  are gospel giants Sipho Makhabane, Phindile Phoky of MTN Joyous Celebration and Donny Ngwenyama.
By 6pm when the gates were opened, some of the gospel music lovers had already arrived, and were waiting patiently for over an hour.

Those who already had the group’s songs were eager to sing along  as they mentioned that most of the songs on the CD were good. Attracting gospel music lovers from both South Africa and Swaziland is the fact that the group also has songs in siSwati which are already trending in the airwaves.
Conducting the choir was MTN Joyous Celebration’s gifted vocalist  Phoky, who made it a point that the choir was  spot on as they sang.

Indeed the choir delivered what most of the music lovers felt  was the best performance. The choir performed two sets with each set lasting for close to  two hours.  The choir sang most of the songs contained on their album, something that was appreciated by the audience as they felt they got their monies worth.
Songs sung by the group include ‘Ancient of Days’, ‘Yeso Wanga’, ‘Bitso Laka’, ‘Umoya Wami’, ‘Linamadla’ and ‘Akhona Amandla’. The others are ‘Jehova Ungubaba’, ‘Ungiholile Kwaze Kwala’ and Bonang. Featuring during the choir’s performance was award winning gospel artist Donny Ngwenyama. Ngwenyama sang two songs titled ‘Siluphakamisa Udumo’ and Ukhon’umendo’.

Just before Ngwenyama left the stage, music lovers started screaming as they wanted the artist to sing his famous song titled ‘Basheshe Bahleka’. Ngwenyama had no choice but to sing the song as it was in demand.
He made sure that he satisfied   his fans fully  while on stage. Also giving a good performance was the choir founder himself   Big Fish  who sang three songs. One of the songs that won the hearts of gospel music lovers was the one titled ‘Akhona Amandla’.
