KWALUSENI – Two Swazi male students walked away Intervarsity title holders yesterday as former Mr Fresher’s Kwaluseni scooped the title of Mr Intervarsity 2017/18.

The 2015 winner of the Mr Fresher’s title was crowned in the early hours of yesterday morning following the Mr/Miss Intervarsity pageant finals which were held at Kwaluseni on Sunday night.

Earnshaw was not the only Swazi who walked away with a title on the night as his second prince was the reigning Mr UNISWA Stephen Khumalo. The first runner up was Lesotho national, Mafike Lehlohonolo.
Worth noting is that both Swazi winners were fan favourites on the night. They sent the audience into frenzy each time they stepped onto the stage to parade their various categories of looks.

Unfortunately for the Swazi ladies who competed in this year’s pageant, the Lesotho students gave them a run for their money as the top three winners were all from the mountainous nation.  It was not all doom and gloom though as two Swazi female students made it to the top six.

Interrupting

The pageant started shortly before 10pm and the crowning was at 3am, this was due to performance breaks as well as rowdy students who appeared obviously inebriated kept interrupting proceedings to display their dance skills on stage.
These interruptions would last over 10 minutes and occurred frequently.

Noticeable was the fact that most students had in their two-litre bottles what appeared as  marula brew ‘buganu’, which is currently in season.
