MBABANE – One cannot stop people from having fun, even the cold front! On Saturday night students from the University of Botswana and from the University of Swaziland gathered together to strengthen their relationship through partying the night away despite the cold weather conditions of Mbabane.

An event that was to start at 6pm ended up starting at around 11:30pm. Upon entry, a lot of fun lovers were gathered by the gate in a manner that one would have thought that the party was being held outside because of the way they had set the whole ‘chilling’ scenario. There were camp chairs and open car boots that played loud music while fun lovers danced their night away.

Inside the arena, the Prince of Wales open ground space where the event was initially held, there was hardly 10 people as the first DJ of the night dished out his music.
Students started flocking in the venue towards midnight, however, not stopping the party outside the gates as it kept on going. Students were dropped by buses and kombis making an estimate of about 500 attendees to the show.

Local acts, Eskay, Lyrikal Busta DJs Wacko, Cash and Botswana’s DJ Thako made sure that fun lovers were entertained as to them it was still a ‘young night’ that they were prepared to dance for up until the morning. At around 1am sounds from the stage dished out by DJs kept flowing while the MC asked for the assistance of the audience to welcome South African artist, NaakMusiq on stage.

A good 20 minutes later, and people doubting that the two South African musical giants who were the headline performers for the night were present, Naakmusiq jumped on stage breaking the doubt with his hit song ‘Amabenjamin’.

The crowd went ballistic as they now had confirmation that indeed their favourite South African fun gurus were around and were ready to set the place on fire with their performances.
