EZULWINI – After missing an opportunity of participating in the Miss World Beauty Pageant, Miss Swaziland Linda Hutchinson will once again miss another opportunity of participating in another world class pageant.

Hutchinson, who is a student at the University of Swaziland (Kwaluseni Campus), has since been withdrawn from taking part in the Miss Legacy Intentional Beauty Pageant.
The country’s beauty queen was expected to be part of the girls who would compete during the pageants scheduled for May this year in Jamaica. However, the dates for the pageant clash with the beauty queen’s examinations schedule.
At the time when the pageant is held, Hutchinson will be busy with her examinations.

This means the country will be represented by  Miss Swaziland’s second Princess Baby Mthimkhulu.
The decision to replace Hutchinson was taken after Pageant Swaziland (SD) discovered that the country’s beauty queen would not be available.

“Since we all know that Miss Swaziland is a student, education comes first. Miss Legacy International is in May and by then the queen will be writing her exams. There was no way she could take part and it is for this reason that we  had to find a replacement and the rightful candidate is her first  princess,” said  Pageant SD’s Chairperson Catrien Potgieter.

She said they have tried to find an alternative pageant for Miss Swaziland which will take place in June.
“She will now attend the Miss Africa Beauty Pageant which will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa. Preparations have already started and we are hoping that by the time she leaves the country, everything will be ready and she will represent us well,” she said.
